Musdapha Ilo, Maiduguri
Some brave youths of Mbulakudla village in Borno State, have arrested 20 suspected members of the Boko Haram sect who had attacked and killed two residents.
Mbulakudla came under attack early Tuesday morning as the armed insurgents shot sporadically into the air and raided several houses before they were confronted and repelled by youths in the village.
The 20 arrested sect members have been handed over to security operatives in the area for appropriate action.
A resident lamented that all villages along the highway from Maiduguri to Askira/Uba have been virtually wiped out with only a few are still standing.
Other residents appealed to the government to come to their aid by resolving all the pending issues with the soldiers on ground who seem to have lost morale for fighting.
The residents also say they have lost confidence in the military because they do not see them as trustworthy people, noting that some terrorist attacks go on for several hours without intervention from the armed forces.
