The Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, has debunked allegation that it is still in the process of verifying the assets declared by President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki and other government officials.
The Bureau said it has completed the exercise.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, spokesperson for the CCB, Mohammed Idris, described the allegation as an attempt to mislead the public, particularly with regards to ongoing trials, notably Saraki’s, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.
“The bureau wishes to inform the general public that it has since concluded the verification of assets declared by those mentioned in the said publication.
“Therefore, the said publication is another trick to misinform the public so as to undermine the ongoing trials of cases of false declaration of assets before the Code of Conduct Tribunal,” the statement read.
The Bureau said the level of compliance under the present administration has greatly increased. It, however, called on those yet to declare their assets to pick up the forms at its Asokoro head office.
