Former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki, a retired Colonel, has been granted bail alongside four others by Justice Husseini Bba Yusuf of the Abuja High Court.
Dasuki is standing trial on 19 count charges of money laundering and criminal breach of trust together with former finance director in the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, Shuaibu Salisu, former general manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Aminu Baba Kusa, Acacia Holdings Limited, and Reliance Reference Hospital.
Dasuki is accused of frittering away $2.1 billion from funds meant for the procurement of arms.
The accused were ordered to pay a bail sum of N250 million and produce a surety each who must be a serving or retired civil servant of the rank of director.
The surety is also expected to present evidence of ownership of a property in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, valued at N250 million.
The judge also ordered the accused to deposit their international passports with the court and must notify the court of any plans to travel out of the FCT.
