2015 Elections: APC Denies Adopting Presidential Candidate

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Nasarawa State on Wednesday denied speculations that the party leadership had adopted a presidential candidate ahead of the 2015 general elections.

The state chairman of the party, Philip Shekwo, told newsmen in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, that the APC had not adopted any candidate for forth coming general elections next year.

Shekwo, who said aspirants are still emerging urged party followers and Nigerians in general to ignore such rumours in the interest of peace.




     

     

    “Candidates are still canvassing for support and I assure you that the party has not taken any such decision. At the appropriate time, we shall take a decision on the party’s candidacy if need be,” he said.

    Shekwo further urged all aspirants seeking elective positions on the party’s platform to be modest in their electioneering campaign, adding that decorum and decency would bring peace and unity among members of the party.

    He also called on party supporters to be law abiding and respect constituted authority in the interest of peace.

    The chairman said that the party would continue to initiate more people-oriented policies to fight poverty, unemployment and youths restiveness in the country.
