The International Centre for Investigative Reporting, ICIR, has produced a resource to help journalists who are writing stories on the Ebola Virus Disease. The resource provides useful tips about precautionary measures that journalists can take before going into the field to report outbreaks, treatment and control of the deadly disease which has infected an estimated 2,127 and claimed 1,145 lives.
The resource is basically a tool that provides useful information, facts, figures and infographics that reporters can use on the go. These includes information about what the Ebola disease is, how it was discovered, by whom, its previous and recent epidemics, the number of cases of infection and deaths as well as timelines on the outbreak in Nigeria.
The resource is open source and available for download below
