VIDEO & PHOTOGRAPHY INTERNS

Job Description
The ICIR is searching for talented young candidates to join our Digital Content team for a six-month internship. The interns are expected to work with our team to provide quality digital content across platforms owned by The ICIR.
Ideal candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

LOCATION: Abuja

Responsibilities
a) Assisting with all aspects of video production, including scriptwriting, video recording and editing.
b) Preparing files for the website and social platforms
d) Working with the team to brainstorm about video documentary projects
e) Other duties that the team lead may assign

Qualifications
We are seeking an undergraduate or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Mass Communication, Broadcast Journalism, video production or a related field of study.
Other requirements include:
a) Ability to think creatively and collaborate with other staff of the ICIR.
b) Ability to multitask 
c) Skills to handle digital cameras and video equipment
d) Desire to learn and adapt to the use of new digital tools and technologies
e) Strong motivation for success

FINANCIAL REPORTERS

Job Description
The ICIR is expanding its operations and seeks experienced financial reporters to join its editorial team. Candidates should have a deep understanding of the Nigerian business environment and be ready to work in a fast-paced newsroom.

The ideal candidate for the ICIR newsroom is a reporter with strong reporting and investigative skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Word, Spreadsheet and the Internet.

LOCATION: LAGOS

Responsibilities
a. Report Business and Finance stories according to The ICIR editorial standards.
b. Conduct quick and accurate research on trending business and finance news to create news articles and analysis.
c. Take photos and record videos to accompany stories as needed.
d. Must be able to travel to events or venues for stories, sometimes at short notice.
e. Other duties as assigned as may be assigned by editors.
f. Available to work five days a week and at weekends, sometimes.

Qualifications
a) Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, Economics, Finance or related field is required, with proven knowledge and experience working in a contemporary newsroom, producing online content.
b) Solid understanding of news REPORTING, NEWS writing AND journalistic ethics.
c) Knowledge of the commodity, financial and stock markets specifically is compulsory.
d) Ability to interpret financial statements and use Microsoft Excel or Spreadsheet is mandatory.
e) At least 2 – 3 years of business/finance reporting experience. Experience in financial reporting is a plus.
