THE Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE) has opened applications for its 2027 Journalism Fellowship – an intensive, two-week study programme focused on professional ethics and ethical leadership.
The curriculum is designed to challenge Fellows to critically examine constructs, current developments and issues that raise ethical concerns in their professions in contemporary settings in which they work.
The fully funded fellowship will select 13 to 16 journalism students and early-career journalists who will spend two weeks in Berlin and Poland visiting sites of Nazi history and participating in daily seminars led by specialised faculty.
FASPE seeks journalism applicants who fit into one of the following three categories: (1) have some journalistic experience, whether in a college newsroom or otherwise, and are enrolled in a graduate programme of any kind and planning to work as a journalist; (2) have completed an undergraduate degree and are working as a journalist; (3) have completed a graduate degree and are working as a journalist.
Preference will be given to candidates who have journalistic work that has been published or aired by a recognised news organisation.
Applicants should generally be in the early stages of their careers, with no more than 10 years of professional experience.
