Gov Okorocha Suspends Commissioner

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has suspended the commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mma Onyechere.

This is contained in a statement signed by the secretary to the state government, Anthony Anwuka, in Owerri on Wednesday.

Anwuka, in the statement, said the decision to suspend the commissioner was taken after the State Executive Council, SEC, meeting presided over by the governor.

However, no reason was given for the suspension.

Meanwhile, the commissioner for Primary and Secondary School Education, Uche Ejiogu, has been directed to take over the running of the affairs of the women affairs ministry.
