THE Asian American Journalist Association (AAJA) is set to host AAJA-Medill Innovation Award to honour journalism that approaches issues related to Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI).

Journalists who have published stories on AAPI issues are eligible and can nominate themselves to compete for a US$5,000 cash prize.

The winner will receive a US$500 travel grant to attend the AAJA’s annual convention as well as a waiver of the award convention registration fee.

The AAJA Governing Board will select the winner based on the quality of any published work, journalistic achievement, devotion to the media field, and sensitivity to AAPI issues.

Self-nomination is accepted, and interested nominees must have a current AAJA membership and be committed to AAJA’s mission.
