Another Nigerian pilgrim dies in Saudi Arabia

A NIGERIAN pilgrim to this year’s hajj Mamman Nasiru Zungeru, from Niger State, has died in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board Umar Makun Lapai, confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday in Minna.

“I regret to announce the death of one of our pilgrims from Niger State, in Makkah. Alhaji Mamman Nasiru Zungeru, from Wushishi Local government Area,” the statement read.

Lapai did not mention the circumstances surrounding the death of the deceased pilgrim. But he said Zungeru’s burial prayers and rites would be conducted by Saudi authorities.

Last month, another Nigerian pilgrim Aisha Ahmed, an indigene of Nasarawa State, died at the King Abdulaziz Hospital in Saudi Arabia after a brief illness.
