The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of planning to win the Lagos State governorship polls using fake result sheets which have been flown in from Abuja.
The party warned that it would use every legal means at its disposal to thwart every move to rob the people of their legitimately cast votes.
In a statement signed on behalf of the APC by its spokesperson, Lai Mohammed, the party accused the President, Goodluck Jonathan of spearheading the move, adding that he had arrived in Lagos to perfect the plot at a meeting with the trio of Jimi Agbaje, the APC governorship candidate for Lagos, Musiliu Obanikoro, a minister and Gani Adams, factional leader of the Odua People’s Congress, OPC.
The APC said that before the meeting, Nigerians on the Social Media had leaked the details of the planned electoral fraud which included the airlifting of Black Kia Mohave SUV with plate number, DHQ 340 which was allegedly packed with sensitive electoral materials.
”The meeting in Lagos was aimed at devising a strategy to distribute the fake result sheets that were packed into the SUV, which will be free to move around (because of its plate number) despite the restriction on vehicular movement during the elections.
”It is sad that the same President, who conceded defeat in the presidential election and then followed up with a speech in which he said he would like his ‘legacy’ of free and fair elections to endure, is the one who is presiding over a desperate move to steal the people’s votes on Saturday,” the statement read.
ICondemning the President’s alleged involvement, the APC said that in the bid to capture Lagos State, the PDP had divided the people along ethnic, religious and regional lines, thus encouraging hate speeches.
The party advised the President to desist from any form of vengeance that will only rubbish whatever is left of his legacy of free and fair elections.
It also urged all APC members and supporters to be extra vigilant on Saturday to “thwart the evil machinations of the fallen behemoth called the PDP.”
