APC Illegally Occupying Kwara Govt House – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is illegally occupying the Kwara State Government House and should be prepared to quit.

Chairman of the PDP in the state, Iyiola Oyedepo, made the accusation in Ilorin at the swearing in of elected chairmen and executive committee members of PDP in 15 local government areas.

He said the occupants of the government house were living on borrowed time with a stolen mandate and that his mandate as PDP chairman in the state was to return the party to government by winning all elections in the state.

“The mandate of PDP that is now illegally in the custody of the APC shall soon be recovered. Therefore, I urge our members to get set for new elections, as Kwara people may be called for elections earlier than 2015,” Oyedepo said.

The chairman appealed to all aggrieved members of the party to bury the hatchet and work as a team, saying that the task ahead of the party was enormous.

He said he would soon set up a committee under the chairmanship of state legal adviser to look into all complaints from the conduct of primaries right from ward to state levels and assured members and chieftains that all forms of disagreements in the party would end on or before May 15.

Oyedepo reminded executive committee members that they were all elected for the purpose of winning elections and not to advance the narrow interest of individuals.

“Whosoever is aspiring to elective office in the next general elections should work hard to earn the respect, commitment and endorsement of party delegates in the next primaries,” he said.
