APC’s Tinubu wins Zamfara

THE candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has been declared the winner of the presidential election in Zamfara State.

The state collation officer, Professor Khashimov Shehu, announced the results in Gusau, the state capital, on Tuesday morning.

Tinubu garnered 298,396 votes to lead other contenders.




     

     

    He won 12 of the 14 local government areas in the state, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, won two.

    Atiku had 193,978 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) scored 4,044. The Labour Party (LP) candidate, Peter Obi, got 1,660 votes.

    The total number of registered voters in the state was 1,879,308, but only 527,137 were accredited for the poll.

    The collation officer also disclosed that votes in 167 polling units were cancelled due to over-voting, insecurity and disruptions by thugs.
