The Nigerian Army on Thursday night said it had sent 12 senior officers to be questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According to a statement issued by army spokesperson, Sani Usman, the officers include three serving and one retired Major Generals, three Brigadier Generals, four Colonels, and one Lieutenant Colonel.
The EFCC is investigating how over N2 billion dollars meant for the procurement of weapons were mismanaged by the Office of the National Security Adviser under Sambo Dasuki, a retired Colonel.
However, the statement added that those found guilty will not be prosecuted by the anti-graft agency.
“At the end of the Commission’s investigations those found culpable will be tried by a military Court Martial,” it said.
