Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused the People’s Democratic Party, PDP-led federal government of “actively trying to sow discord and division in Nigeria” by falsely accusing the All Progressive Congress, APC, of terrorism, and has dared the government to back its statements with facts.
Abubakar who conveyed his message through his Facebook handle, said the federal government is trying to set various religious and ethnic groups in the country against each other, by making false accusations against the All Progressive Congress, APC.
“If the FG believes APC leaders are terrorists, they should produce evidence, arrest and prosecute. But of course they cannot do that, because they are peddling blatant falsehood in the hope of dividing Nigerians,” the former vice president said.
Abubakar said instead of dividing Nigerians, the federal government should focus on ensuring security for its citizens. “That is the FG’s primary job!” he stressed.
He added that the focus for the Nigerian youth must remain jobs, quality education and security.
“Jobs improve security, education improves opportunity,” he noted.
