Bama Still Under Our Control – Boko Haram

Musdapha Ilo, Maiduguri

A self proclaimed spokesman of the outlawed Boko Haram sect, Abu Zinnira, has debunked reports that Bama has been be recaptured by the Nigerian military, saying the town still remained under the control of insurgents.

Speaking in a telephone chat with journalists, Zinnira equally said that the sect has capture Michika and part of Mubi in Adamawa State and would continue to attack more towns and villages in their bid to gain more grounds.

He said, “This is a rebuttal from the information dissemination and sensitization unit of the Jama’atul Ahlil Sunna Lidawati Wal Jihad (Boko Haram) on the series of lies that the Nigeria military have been feeding the world on our recent conquests.”

“Let the whole world know that we are on the path of victory because up to this minute, the town of Bama is under our control, the whole of Michika is now in our hands, as well as Manalapan (Junction of) Mubi is now fully under our control,” the spokesman added.

“We are assuring the world that this would be continuous and there will be no going back by God’s grace.”

After an aerial onslaught by the Nigerian Air force on Bama town over the weekend which forced the university of Adamawa to shut down, the military announced its victory over the insurgents, saying the insurgents were compelled to retreat into Mubi and Michika in Adamawa state.
