Bayelsa Commissioner’s Kidnappers Demand N40 Million Ransom

 

Kidnappers of the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Local Government, Serefina Otazi, have demanded a ransom of N40 million for her release, according to family sources.

The commissioner, who was also the acting chairman of Ogbia local government council, was abducted on Sunday, December 20 in Otuoke on her way to Ewoi Community in Ogbia local government area for funeral.




     

     

    A member of the commissioner’s family, Endurance Frank, said in a telephone conversation on Tuesday that the kidnappers had contacted the family and demanded for a ransom of N40 million for her release..

    Frank said that the family was relieved to finally hear her abductors but appealed to them to release her unconditionally.

    The commissioner’s family had been worried that her abductors had been silent since she was whisked away by unknown gunmen over a week ago.

    No word has also been heard from the abductors of the sister of Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson’s Sister, Nancy Dickson who was kidnapped at her shop in Yenagoa on December 19.
