The Borno State Police Command has announced that one female suicide bomber was killed on Tuesday morning while another was arrested by security officials on duty.

The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Victor Isuku, said that the attackers were trying to infiltrate the Maiduguri metropolis before they were intercepted.

“Today 7/2/17 at about 0700 hrs, two female suicide bombers about 18 years old, were sighted behind Mega filling station in Molai area, while attempting to infiltrate Maiduguri town,” read a statement issued by the PPRO.

“They were intercepted by security personnel on duty. One was arrested andthe other one was shot dead.”

Isuku also stated that “EOD personnel were quickly drafted to the sceneand rendered the area safe.”
