Buhari Appoints Niger Man As Acting IGP

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Idris as the new Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP.

He replaced Solomon Arase whose tenure officially ended on Monday 20th June, 2016.






     

     

    Arase and Idris were both sighted leaving the Villa this afternoon, after what sources called a “brief meeting” with the president.

    No official statement has been made yet.

    Until his appointment, Idris served as Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of federal operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

    Idris hails from Niger State In North Central Nigeria .
