Buhari Orders Retirement Of 17 Permanent Secretaries

President-Elect-Muhammadu-Buhari-Delivers-Acceptance-Speech
Ahead of Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday ordered the retirement of 17 permanent secretaries from the federal civil service.

The President on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with some of the permanent secretaries in his office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

He is said to have notified the affected permanent secretaries that they have been relieved of their appointments during the meeting.

The decision by the President, some say, may be geared towards strengthening the federal civil service.

However, the president is expected to inaugurate a new federal cabinet on Wednesday at the FEC meeting.
