
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday swore in the new national chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahood Yakubu and five national commissioners in Abuja.
Buhari, who spoke at the swearing in ceremony at the council chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, charged the officers to make the conduct of free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria their priority.
He President told the new INEC top officers who were recently confirmed by the Senate that they cannot afford to fail the nation in future elections.
The five national commissioners are Amina Zakari, Solomon Adedeji Soyebi, Antonia Taiye Okoosi-Simbine, Muhammed Mustafa Lecky and Baba Shettima Arfo.
