Calistus Nwabueze Obi has been appointed the acting Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, following the sack of Ziakede Patrick Akpobolokemi by the federal government.
In a statement by NIMASA’s spokesperson, Isichei Osamgbi, the agency new boss, a trained lawyer and member of the Nigerian Bar Association, was until his appointment headed its Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services and comes with over two decades of experience in public sector, maritime industry and law practice.
The 51 years old, who comes from Ihiala local government area, Anambra State, studied law at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and also holds a post-graduate diploma in Public Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
