THE Columbia Climate School is hosting a virtual event, “Building Resilient Food Systems,” on September 30, 2024, to discuss the complexities of food system resilience and how policy, innovation, and global collaboration can protect and enhance food security.
The online discussion will feature two panellists, Jessica Fanzo and Michael Puma, who are Columbia Climate School’s Professor of Climate and Director of the Food for Humanity Initiative, and Senior Research Scientist and Director of the Center for Climate Systems.
It will be moderated by Jeffrey Shaman, Professor of Environmental Health Sciences and of Climate.
The host says, “Global food systems are facing unprecedented pressures.”
“Patterns of food production, processing, transport and consumption are increasingly fragile and vulnerable, and are exacerbating the prevalence of hunger on a global scale.”
Journalists interested in learning about global food systems and climate change can attend this webinar.
