Defection ‘bug’ hits House of Reps, 36 members ditch APC

THIRTY-six members of the House of Representatives have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.

Thirty-three of the defectors joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and four moved to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

This is following a similar development at the Senate earlier on Tuesday when 15 senators dumped the ruling party, 14 for the PDP and one for ADC.

The legislators cited division in the APC as the reason for their defection.

However, unlike in the Senate here the defections gave PDP the majority, APC still maintains its majority in the House of Reps despite the movements.
