The Senate has fixed Wednesday, March 15, for the screening of the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.
The decision was taken during Tuesday’s Plenary presided over by Senate President Bukola Saraki.
Magu is yet to be confirmed as substantial EFCC chair despite the fact that the Presidency had forwarded his name to the Senate a long time ago.
It would be recalled that the Lawmakers had rejected Magu’s initial nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari, citing a report by the Department of State Services, DSS, which purportedly indicted the acting EFCC boss of corruption.
But it has since been proven that the allegations against Magu were incorrect, prompting the President to resend his name to the Senate for confirmation in January this year.
The screening exercise has now been fixed for Wednesday.
