The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFFC, on Monday morning quizzed the immediate past governor of Benue State , Gabriel Suswam, over allegations of corruption while in office as governor.
The former governor was sighted in the commission’s office around 10:00am on Monday.
Suswam governed Benue State between 2007 and May 2015 and he was invited by the anti graft agency to answer questions relating to allegations “abuse of office and diversion of funds.”
EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren confirmed Suswam’s invitation and questioning on Monday evening.
“He was invited by the EFCC in connection with ongoing corruption investigation in Benue state,” Uwujaren stated.
It was learnt that the former governor’s invitation is likely to be connected to the questioning of the former Benue State Commissioner for Finance, Omadachi Oklobia, who served under the previous administration last Friday.
