Ekiti guber poll: INEC begins collation of results in LGAs

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced collation of results from the 16 local government areas in Ekiti State following the conclusion of voting in Saturday’s governorship election.

Collation of results is ongoing at the INEC offices in each LGA.

However, some of the INEC officials are still returning from their various polling units as of the time of filing this report.

The Collation Officer in Ekiti West LGA announced that results for only four out of the 11 wards in the LGA had arrived.

The wards whose results have arrived the LG collation centre are Erijiyan I, Ipole Iloro, Okemesi III and Okemesi II.




     

     

    The final collation of results has not commenced in Efon LGA as collation officers are still waiting for the returning officials from the various wards and polling units.

    The ICIR gathered that as of 6:30 pm in Ikole LGA, the local government collation centre was ready but still expecting ward results to arrive.

    Also, as of 6:30 pm, INEC staff have arrived at the collation centre at Irepodun/Ifelodun LGA.

    The INEC official said collation will commence at 7:30 pm even if results from all wards are available by then.
