Federal Workers’ October Salaries Ready, Says Presidency

The Presidency has announced that the unpaid salaries of federal government workers for the month of October are now available with payment to commence this week.

In a statement issued by the President’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, he blamed the delayed payment of salaries to some technical issues about the process of payment.

Shehu said that President Muhammadu Buhari “is seriously concerned about the ordeals of civil servants on account of delayed payment of salaries”.

According to him, the happiness and welfare of the people were the cardinal objectives of any democratically elected government, stressing that the government remains committed to these objectives not only on paper but also in practice.

The Presidency further thanked Nigerians for their patience and understanding, adding that empathy would be the guiding philosophy of the Buhari administration.
