At least 12 people were killed following a terror attack masterminded by female suicide bombers in Dar, a remote village in Adamawa State, on Sunday.
The former chairman of the Madagali local government council, Maina Ularamu, said the bomb was detonated near a building where people, including children, were hiding following threats of a likely attack.
Boko Haram has recently increased attacked on the area, which is just few kilometres from the border with Borno state to the north and the insurgents’ Sambisa Forest stronghold.
Ularamu called for better security, telling journalists that residents fled to the bush and that “two women who disguised as fleeing locals blew themselves up… while the gunmen shot at survivors.”
He further said that 12 corpses have so far been found but the Adamawa state police spokesman, Othman Abubakar, confirmed 11 dead.
