Gov. AbdulRahman retains seat in Kwara

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman winner of the Saturday March 18 governorship election in Kwara State.




     

     

    AbdulRahman, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 273,424 votes to edge his closest rival, Peoples Democratic Party’s Yaman Abdullahi, who scored 155,490 votes.

    The result is as announced on Sunday, March 19, by the INEC Returning Officer for the state in the governorship/Assembly elections, Professor Isaac Itodo.

    Itodo, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, declared AbdulRahman winner of the election, having scored majority votes in the election.

    According to him, AbdulRahman won in all the 16 local government councils in the state.
