Guber poll: Thugs invade INEC office in Abia

THUGS have invaded the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, where the votes from the March 18 governorhip and state assembly elections are being collates.

INEC disclosed this via its Twitter handle on Sunday, March 19.




     

     

    INEC tweeted: “Thugs have invaded our Obingwa Local Government Area office in Abia State.

    “Security agencies have been alerted. The Commission is monitoring the situation and will issue a statement shortly.”

    Eighteen candidates are contesting for the governorship position in the state. 

    The top candidates are: Ikechi Emenike of the APC, Gregory Ibe of APGA, Alex Otti of LP, and Okey Ahiwe, the candidate of the ruling PDP in the state.
