Human Rights Fellowship Opens To Journalists, Others

Recent graduates in Journalism, International Relations or Law (at the master’s level or beyond)  can apply for the 2015 Alan R. and Barbara D. Finberg Fellowship. human rights fellowship program.

The yearlong fellowship commences in September 2015 and offers a salary of US$55,000 with excellent employer paid benefits.

The programme is sponsored by Human Rights Watch, HRW, an international human rights monitoring and advocacy organisation.

The programme enables fellows work in HRW’s offices in New York or Washington for one year monitoring human rights developments worldwide, conducting on-site investigations, drafting reports, media outreach and more.

Applicants must demonstrate a background in human work and are expected to be committed to pursuing a career in that field.




     

     

    Requirements include research and field experience, analytic skills and fluency on English language. Proficiency in a second language is an advantage..

    Applicants must submit a complete application package which includes a cover letter, resume, two recommendation letters, sample of an unpublished writing and a graduate school transcript.

    The deadline for the application is Oct. 15.
