#ICIRat10: Media need collaboration to boost engagement — Dan-Ali Mannir

A FORMER Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Trust newspaper, Dan-Ali Mannir, has harped on the need for organisations in the media industry to collaborate in order to foster growth and boost engagement.

Mannir, speaking today at the 10th anniversary of the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, stressed the need for media organisations to collaborate and dominate their own space.

“We must remain committed and collaborate and engage the market,” he said.

He added that the media industry was an evolving market with limitless opportunities.

Recalling how the Daily Trust newspaper was founded, Mannir said it did not require so much to build a media that would make an impact on the society.

He stressed the need for media directors to take the welfare of their staff serious, asserting it was one of the major keys to media sustainability.
