INEC declares PDP’s Umo Eno Akwa Ibom governor-elect

THE candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has won the governorship election in the state.

Eno was declared the winner by the INEC returning officer in the state, Prof Emmanuel Adigio.




     

     

    Adigio, the chancellor of the Nigerian Maritime University, announced the PDP governorship candidate as the winner of the election, having met the conditions set for the election by Nigerian laws.

    Eno won the election with 354,348 votes defeating his closest contenders from the All Progressive Congress and Labour Party.

    APC candidate Akanimo Udofia got 129,602 votes, while the LP candidate Uduakobong got 4,746.

    In total, Akwa Ibom has 68584 registered voters and 22993 accredited voters.
