Kano INEC Boss, Family Burnt To Death In Mystery Fire

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in Kano State, Mukaila Abdulahi, who supervised last Saturday’s elections, has died from a fire that engulfed his house on Kashim Road, Nasarawa GRA, Kano.




     

     

    Abdulahi, an indigene of Jigawa State, died along with his wife and two children when the mystery fire incident occurred around 4:00am on Friday.

    The INEC spokesman in the state, Lawal Garba, confirmed the incident and said the deceased would be buried in his hometown after Friday prayer.

    The Kano State fire service boss, Balarabe Kabara, also confirmed the incident and said investigation had commenced to determine the cause of the fire.

    Initial but unconfirmed reports were that the fire started after a spark from the generating set being used by the family.
