 Siasia-1

About two weeks after her abduction, Beauty Siasia, mother of national U-23 male football team coach, Samson Siasia, has regained her freedom.

Seventy two year old Beauty was abducted on November 16 when unidentified gunmen stormed her residence at Odoni community of Sagbama local government area and whisked her away on a motorcycle.

According to the Bayelsa State police command, the victim was released around 1:30am along the East- West Road on Saturday.

“She is hale and hearty and has been reunited with her family. The Police has intensified efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects,” the police spokesperson in the state, Asinim Butswat, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, confirmed.

The kidnappers had demanded a N150 million ransom before later reducing it to N32million but the family said it could only afford N600, 000.

However, Butswat said no ransom was paid, as the kidnappers were forced to release Beauty after men of Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the command stormed their location. He did not say if anybody was arrested.
