The Kiplinger Programme in Public Affairs Journalism at Ohio University seeks entries to its short-term fellowships.
The programme will train journalists to cover the most pressing contemporary global issues, with the 2025 fellowship focusing on artificial intelligence and how it can be used appropriately for journalism and its impact on reporting, writing, data journalism and sourcing.
of focus will include ethics and public trust, writing and editing with AI, AI and data, AI for audio and imaging, fake spotting AI images and much more.
The fellowship will take place March 23 to 28, 2025 in Athens, Ohio.
Fellows receive six days of immersive training from experts on how AI can be used appropriately for journalism and its impact on reporting, writing, data journalism and sourcing.
Print, broadcast and online journalists with at least five years experience are eligible to apply, including freelancers.
Journalists covering politics or government agencies can apply for a fellowship.
The fellowship covers accommodations, hotel and most meals. Travel stipends are available to reduce travel costs for fellows selected from outside the United States.
