Lagos Assembly Confirms 37 Commissioners

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed the 37 commissioner nominees presented to it by the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

The Deputy Speaker, Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni – led 15-man committee, which was set-up to screen the nominees, confirmed the candidates following the presentation of it report during plenary.




     

     

    Eshinlokun – Sanni said the nominees were invited by the committee after they received all copies of their resumes and certificates.

    He further informed the House that the submitted resumes and certificates were thoroughly verified for one week from Monday, 5 October to Friday, 9 October, 2015.

    Earlier, during the plenary, there was a general screening when the nominees were asked to introduce themselves and explain how they were screened by the committee before their report was presented to the House.

    The Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, asked the Clerk of the House, Segun Abiru, to hand over the confirmation letter of the nominees to the governor from the House.
