The Enogie of Obazuwa, in Benin, Edun Akenzua, has sued for peace among the warring factions of the Edo State House of Assembly, urging aggrieved parties to seek redress in court.
Akenzua said it was shameful that the lawmakers who should know about the law are now acting in a lawless and unserious manner, stressing that politics should be much more that the tussle going on at the Assembly.
“I think what should be done is for people to obey the law, no matter how bad it is. No matter how bad a law is, it should be obeyed until it is set aside,” he stated.
He called for an end to the cold war which has denied citizens of the state access to the roads within the vicinity of the Assembly complex.
“The issues of governance are far more serious than the lawmakers are displaying. The lawmakers by their display, have proved to Nigerians that they are not the right calibre of people to be in the House,” the traditional ruler said.
