New Telegraph Loses Editor To Wednesday Explosion In Abuja

The managing editor (Northern Operations) of the New Telegraph, Suleiman Bisalla, was among the unfortunate victims of the explosion that rocked a shopping plaza in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Wednesday, the newspaper has announced.

The management of New Telegraph newspapers announced Bisalla’s death in a statement in Abuja yesterday.




     

     

    The statement reads in part: “Mallam Suleiman Bisalla, aged 46, died in the bomb blast that occurred at the Emab Plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja on Wednesday June 25, 2014″.

    Until December 2013 when he joined New Telegraph, Bisalla was a deputy editor at the Daily Trust Newspapers, Abuja.

    The managing director of New Telegraph, Gabriel Akinadewo, described Bisalla as a thorough bred and hard working journalist who will be greatly missed by the company.

    Bisalla’s remains will be laid to rest today according to Islamic rites, his elder brother, Mohammed Bisalla, said on behalf of the family.
