The Nigerian Air Force on Tuesday succeeded in dealing a heavy blow on the Boko Haram sect as it destroyed its vehicles, workshops, fuel and ammunition dumps all within the Sambisa Forest after it carried out several airstrikes on the group’s hideouts.
The Director of Public Relations of the Air Force, Dele Alonge, an Air Commodore, disclosed in a statement that the feat was achieved following painstaking Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, ISR, efforts by the air force’s Unmanned Aerial vehicle, UAV, and ATR-42 platforms.
According to Alonge, the airstrikes was part of strategies to meet President Mohammadu Buhari’s directive to bring the insurgency in the North east to an end by end of the year.
