
The Osun State government on Monday announced Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, aged 40, as the new Ooni of Ife, the successor of Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who passed away in July.
Confirming Ogunwusi’s appointment, the Secretaty to the state government, Moshood Adeoti, in a statement said that governor Rauf Aregbesola had “approved the appointment of Prince Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi of Giesi Ruling House as the new Ooni of Ife.”
Until his appointment, Ogunwusi hails from the Ojaja Royal compound of Agbedegbede in the Giesi Ruling House, attended the Polytechnic, Ibadan, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma, HND, in Accountancy.
He is now a property merchant and board member of Imperial Homes Mortgage Bank Limited, a subsidiary of GTBank and as well as FinaTrust Microfinance Bank Limited.
He is also a member of several professional bodies including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, an associate accounting technician and a certified member of the Institute of Directors, IoD.
