Peter Obi returns to Nigeria after 3-day trip to Egypt

THE Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi returned to Nigeria on Saturday after a three-day trip to Egypt.

Last Tuesday, Obi announced on his verified Twitter handle that he was embarking on a three-day visit to Egypt to understudy, among others, the Egyptian power, education, planning and finance sectors.

While he was away, The ICIR reported that former governor of Kano State and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso confirmed that his party was in talks with the Labour Party on the possibilty of a merger ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Kwankwaso made this known in an interview with BBC Hausa Service on Saturday.

He said: “We are really talking to Peter Obi, or at least saying that the committee is working to look into the matter (and cooperate with him), and friends and family are coming to talk to us about it.”
