Days after sacking service chiefs and announcing their replacements, President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the immediate dissolution of all governing boards of parastatals, agencies and institutions with immediate effect.

Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, made the announcement on Thursday and directed the chief executive officers of the affected agencies to report to the President through the permanent secretaries of their ministries pending the composition of new boards.

“While the dissolution does not affect Federal Executive Bodies listed in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it covers administrative or technical committees and other similar organs established by the now dissolved boards,” Adesina said.
