Reporter Slam Nigeria invites journalists to apply for 2026 storytelling platform

REPORTER Slam Nigeria is inviting journalists to apply for its 2026 live journalism storytelling platform, which provides an opportunity for journalists to share the human stories behind their reporting.

Selected journalists, reporters, documentary filmmakers and multimedia journalists will take the stage to share the experiences, challenges, discoveries and human realities behind their work.

The theme for the 2026 edition is Journalism & The Nigerian Story.”

With Nigeria’s election year in focus, applicants are encouraged to share a story or experience from their reporting that highlights efforts to foster democracy or offers a reflection on the state of Nigeria’s democracy.

Applications should reflect Nigerian lived experiences and may explore themes such as civic participation, solutions journalism, democracy in action, governance, gender, climate, security, press freedom and social change.

Application deadline: September 20, 2026.
