Many people are feared dead in Bauchi State after an explosion went off at a branch of the First Bank located in Azare, a major town.

Eyewitnesses say the casualty figure is expected to be high as many bankers has queued at about 10:30 am to collect their monthly salaries, when the explosion went off around the bank’s Automated Teller Machine, ATM, gallery.

Details of the explosion at this time are still sketchy and the Police is expected to issue a statement later.
