The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, confirmed that six corpses were deposited at the morgue of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, UMTH, by rescue workers following the attack.

Two suspects, who were believed to have helped the bomber, escaped when members of the youth vigilante group, Civilian JTF, tried to question them about their suspicious movements.
According NEMA’s North east coordinator, Mohammed Kanar, 17 people were injured, with five sustaining serious injuries and taken to the UMTH.
