Another explosion occurred on Thursday evening in Nyanya, a satellite town located in the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, killing a suicide bomber and an unspecified number of persons.
Several others were also injured in the bomb blast which occurred at about 8.00 pm in the same park where a similar explosion was recorded just over two weeks ago which claimed scores of lives.
An eye witness, who claimed to have been drinking with friends at the park when the bomb went off, said that a suicide bomber in a Golf car detonated a bomb, causing a loud explosion that tore the vehicle into pieces, in the process killing many people and injuring others.
The location of the latest bomb attack is the street adjacent the Nyanya park where motorists had been temporarily moved after the April 14 incident.
It was gathered that there were many taxis and buses in the park with passengers in them when the explosion occurred but the casualty figure can still not be ascertained as the whole area was quickly cordoned of by soldiers.
The scattered remains of the Golf car and dismembered bodies could be seen from a distance while emergency relief officials, including policemen, men of the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps, Federal Roads Safety Corps, FRSC, and other security agencies were seen evacuating dead bodies and the wounded.
Hundreds of residents of the area besieged the scene of the bomb blast giving security men a hectic time clearing the place. At a point, angry youths in crowd pelted soldiers with stones, but the uniformed men maintained their peace.
