While the Federal Ministry of Education will spend N205.8 million to purchase three exotic Toyota LC V8 2016 model at the rate of N68.6 million each, it will spend just N7.2 million for all the activities to improve early childhood education of about 30 million children who are five years old and below.
The document was delivered to Osinbajo on Friday by the special adviser to the President on National Assembly matters – Senate, Ita Enang, behind closed doors.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has said that he would assent to the 2017 budget proposal which was recently passed by the National Assembly, once he is satisfied with the contents as passed by the legislators.
The Senate has given Acting President Yemi Osinbajo two weeks to submit the budgets of 31 government agencies, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA and the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, to the National Assembly in line with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and the Fiscal Responsibility Act.
