Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom state has sacked about 5,000 teachers who were employed under the administration of former governor Godswill Akpabio.
The Akwa Ibom Police Command has attributed the explosion of the NNPC gas pipeline in Nsit-Ibom Local Government Area of the State to a technical fault, saying that claims by the Niger Delta Avengers militant group that it blew up the oil facility, was false.
The Niger Delta Avengers said it has blown up a gas pipeline belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, located at Nsit-Ibom local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
